The renovations to FM Global’s former headquarters, known as Northwoods,
encompassed 338,600 sf of highly efficient office space. Independent entrances
accommodate three major tenants, as well as many smaller ones; amenities include
a full service cafeteria with access to a landscaped deck overlooking a landscaped
campus setting with a walking path and pond, showers, locker room & exercise
facility, and 1300 parking spaces (expansion parking available as needed). A complete
gut demo of the existing office building including all MEP— the project was taken
back to the structural skeleton with a completely new curtainwall system, MEP/FP
systems, new entrances, bathroom cores, elevators and cafeteria/server. New heating,
cooling and electrical systems, as well as a new glass curtain wall will help raise the
building’s energy efficiency as the project achieved LEED Gold certification.
