The People of the First Light, also known as The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe, held a festive groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday, April 5th for the First Light Resort & Casino. The new facility will include a casino, fine dining, entertainment venues, luxury hotel rooms, and many other alluring amenities. The ceremonial event, with several hundred in attendance, included a tribal prayer, traditional singing, and stories from the tribe’s history.
First Light Resort & Casino is on schedule to open for business by summer of 2017.
