Dimeo Construction, along with Vision 3 Architects, participated in the 2014 Canstruction® fundraiser, the most unique food charity in the world! The team’s sculpture, Going Banana’s because Hunger is No Game, embodied a whimsical design of Donkey Kong breaking free from his 2-dimensional world of a Gameboy. Standing nearly 10’ tall, he towered over all that gazed upon him. The silver Gameboy shimmered below the ape as it supported his legs and arms. The amazing sculpture won the 2014 “Structural Integrity” award.
The Dimeo Construction Company-led team utilized nearly 6,000 cans to create both Donkey Kong and the Gameboy. From numerous flavors of peanut butter, various types of vegetables, beans, tuna fish, canned pasta, fruit cups, and others, the cans provided a wide variety of food for the Rhode Island Community Food Bank.
The Dimeo team would like to extend a huge Thank You to all of our sponsors! Without your support and generosity we wouldn’t have reached this amazing goal and aided in the fight on hunger!!
