Dimeo Construction Company Completes Yale University, Calhoun College Renovations

New Haven, CT - Built in 1932, Calhoun College is a residential college composed of interconnected three and four story buildings. The college contains student residences, the College Dean's office, a library, commons rooms, a dining hall and the Master's House. This recently completed historic renovation, designed by Newman Architects LLC, included replacing existing systems; installing new systems; replacing the slate roof; masonry repair; and improvements to site accessibility, drainage, and landscaping. The project provides improvements to facilities for students, administration, and operations.

Systems such as electrical, voice, data, mechanical, and plumbing were replaced, and the old steam heating system was replaced with hot water radiation. Scope of work also included providing air conditioning to public spaces, Master's House, faculty apartments, academic, and administrative spaces, and replacing all kitchen systems. With the increased MEP services, Dimeo also had to build new mechanical and electrical rooms to support the additional capabilities.
