Dimeo Construction

Dimeo served as Construction Manager for the Burton Football Complex & Shenkman Training Center at the University of Connecticut - Storrs campus. The 170,000 sf building consists of a 120-yard indoor practice field complete with artificial turf and partially illuminated by natural light, an 18,000 sf strength and conditioning area (including a mezzanine with a five-lane, 60-yard track), a 4,250 sf locker facility for athletes and coaches, meeting rooms, training/sports medicine facility and clinic, academic resources areas, audio visual and public areas. Extensive utility and site improvement relocations had to be performed before work on the building could commence. The project design received LEED Silver certification, the first college athletic project in the nation to earn this designation.
