The Providence Public Library engaged Dimeo as Construction Manager when they embarked on a multi-year campaign to address the urgent and changing needs of the diverse community it serves, making structural, programmatic and technological improvements to its library system. Our work began with the renovations to the 1920's original McKim, Mead and White building. The Library was kept in complete operation during the construction process, including complete restoration of the front entrance in addition to a new book stack area, elevator and ADA compliant entrances, and restoration to the building millwork and ornamental plaster and painting. The project scope also included mechanical/electrical work. Subsequent branch renovations and expansions included the Rochambeau & South Providence branches.
