Brown chose Dimeo to meticulously restore and renovate the beautiful early-1900s Carr House, including a new three-story addition to the rear of the building. Dimeo also built a new four-story addition on adjacent property on an extremely tight site across from Fones Alley, requiring use of a busy street during the day and special precautions pertaining to adjoining residents. Carr House now offers classrooms and faculty offices, as well as an intimate black box theatre/auditorium that features good sight lines, grid, theater-appropriate lighting, and a control board. The theatre can accommodate up to 150 seats in any configuration, providing flexible space for avant-garde productions, experimental theatre, music, and multimedia productions.
