Atrium Pavilion Building
Boston, MA
250,000 sf
Architect: Hoskins, Scott, Taylor & Partners

This 150-bed acute care teaching hospital features a four-story, glass enclosed atrium that serves as the main entry. As part of the construction program, Dimeo also relocated the dietary and nutrition facilities, and built a new MRI facility. Because the project was constructed on a restricted site with virtually no laydown areas, it was a challenge to maintain ambulance access lanes. Dimeo's project team, due to the unique requirements of the project involving extending the front of the structure and building a new atrium, required a very detailed phasing and logistics plan which was coordinated daily with medical and emergency staff to assure safe and unobstructed access to and egress from the facility.

Dimeo's unique scheduling approach allowed the project to remain on schedule, despite a scope change that added an additional floor after the structure was 10% complete.
