This recently completed project was designed for LEED Silver certification, but is now hoping to achieve LEED Gold. The new office building includes green elements such as: a combined reflective roof and green roof system, water saving faucets and shower heads, a rainwater harvesting system, no use of CFC-based refrigerants, window shades and interior lighting control, an interior air quality management plan and ‘green' housekeeping program. More than 76% of construction waste was diverted from a landfill, the building materials are comprised of 32.7% recycled content, and nearly half of building materials were obtained locally. In the heart of downtown Providence, the new facility encourages alternative modes of transportation for employees with the inclusion of bicycle racks, showers and locker rooms, and free bus passes for many of the employees.
